Contending for the Holy Spirit (Part 2)

We need you Abba! Our little safe places are not safe from you! Lord I’m asking… Abba search me and know my heart. Lord let us contend for more of you Jesus. Let your spirit fall! We need more of your Spirit.
Beloved if we do not contend for more of the Holy Spirit what then are we going to contend for? Ask yourself this question; How far are you willing to go? Really? How long will you tarry with Him? Really? Guys we cannot fall victim to the Spirit of Eli as in 1 Samuel 4. If you read the first four chapters you will realize that God is a jealous God and wont stand for anything less than the truth of Himself. We cannot be held captive by this spirit of less than. If we want to be held captive by a Spirit it needs to be the Spirit of whatever it takes. The Spirit that desires direct manifestation. The one that breeds intercession and stirs something within us to press. We need to lay hold of divine grace through the Holy Spirit. Beloved we need to tarry with the Holy Spirit, because in Luke 3 John the Baptist says that there is One coming greater than I and the One that is coming greater will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire! A true branding, and a true anointing of the Holy Spirit needs to be within us. We need the Spirit of God to come and give us life! Guys Paul talks about in 1 Thessalonians 2 of being a laborer entrusted with the Gospel. He was thanking God that he has been entrusted with the Gospel. God wants to entrust a generation with the Gospels but we first have to partner with the Holy Spirit. In Matthew 9 Jesus was teaching upon this very issue. He knew that we needed the Spirit of God to come and give us light! And we cannot just have a spirit of apathy and laziness that was described clearly in the Old Testament. That spirit that Abiathar, a Levitical priest, had, the spirit of corruption and laziness. We need to contend for the Holy Spirit. We should be laborers over the Word of God. We need the Word of God! And Jesus says in Matthew 9: 38therefore(AY) pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to(AZ) send out laborers into his harvest.” You see, Jesus knew very well what was going on then and is even going on presently today. We need to be laborers! He knew that even back then that the Harvest was plenty but the laborers were few. Guys a laborer isn’t someone who signs up for a good old time or a trip of fun (although it very well can be, that is not all that it is). A laborer in all trueness and reality is someone who tarries with the Holy Spirit and wrestles in the secret place of intimacy with God. That wrestles and contends for the Holy Spirit. A true intercessor of sorts. One who searches the depths of God knowing that when they emerge, the knowledge they have had birthed in them is only the beginning of the beginning of the contending and calling that a true laborer should have when delving into the depths of God. A laborer is one who as Paul talks about who has been entrusted from something from heaven. A laborer can be birthed in the place of radical fasting, radical prayer, and in the place of simply laying everything down before God and acknowledging that we need the Spirit of God!

Guys God is raising up Laborers in this generation and in this hour. But we need a rude awakening! A rude awakening that truly opens our eyes and forces us to come back and search the knowledge of God, while contending for it through the Holy Spirit. Do you guys realize that there are transformed communities all of the world that are filled with the Spirit, and are partnering with the Jealous Holy Spirit, and are moving with the Holy Spirit and not one of those transformed communities is the United States of America? Does that not bother you? It should. Because think about it for a second, we “Pledge Allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, One nation, UNDER GOD, indivisible, with Liberty and Justice for all.” Yet somehow we have neglected God. We’ve just neglected our basis that the founding fathers of this nation laid down, when we as a nation were first founded. Now the last line “with Liberty and Justice for all” I personally refuse to say every morning when the pledge is announced at our school. Why? Because right now it is a lie. Seriously, ponder with me for a second, are we really having liberty and justice for all when we have abortions taking place everyday in this nation? Is that what God really wants? No! We have altars of Baal in our very nation that defy God and cause us to diverge from the eternal purposes that God has for us! Now I will say this in closing and in part preparation for part 3, we are making some steady progress toward a great revival!…
