Approaching the Fullness of God; A Reality or Not?

Recently I’ve been stuck in two books that I cant seem to get out of. Both of which all relate to one massive topic; the Fullness of God. And I’m completely convinced that I will probably be in this place for the next 2395823958237498237498237 years. Now these books, to me, speak loudly something very prophetic yet simply basic to all of mankind. To me, the reality is this and this alone, we need to come back to the basic and full knowledge of revelation of who our God is. We need to pursue the intimacy of God with the reality that we are nothing without Him. We need to denounce the bold faced demonic lie that our God is not an emotional God. We need to do all of that through the one thing that matters most. This idea that our God has created something that we are not following and I’m not okay with that. We are in this grind of we can do this ourselves through the power of prayer and God alone. And that is wrong. It’s a demonic lie we as a church have believed. We need to come to God through the power that John writes about in his epistle 1John. (Which by the way if you haven’t already figured out that is where I am stuck but coincidentally I’m also stuck in John 15 which is a byproduct of this idea as well). In 1John, John, (which you’d be surprised to hear that some people debate the fact of whether or not John wrote the epistles 1John through 3John) writes about something massive. This idea of corporately going after God through fellowship together between You and God and You and fellow believers. Because in 1John 1:3-4 that

“3We proclaim to you what we have seen and heard, so that you also may have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ. 4We write this to make our[a] joy complete.”

we cannot grow deeper in God without the fellowship of abiding in Christ along with fellow believers. Sure we can grow deep in God but at some point in time you will flat line and hit a point in God where you are dry and your faith is producing nothing. And I promise you that all of our barriers between us and God would be demolished if we fellowship with fellow believers. You see John may have been 90 at the time of being in jail and writing this epistle but John understood something that we need to understand today. And he writes about this repeatedly throughout 1John. John addresses and understands that we cannot grow deep in God without having a common vision and a common value with believers as to who God is and who we believe Him to be. And I promise you this, brothers, that all theological debate WOULD END if we all had a common vision and a common value as to who God is. And the truth of God, birthed out of true intimacy. You see its easy just being conceptual and throwing out concepts to sound smart in our belief of who God is because we are doing it out of this what we like to call “safe place” because we have grown up believing God to be who he is because our parents believe that or our friends believe this. And beloved, that is a wrong false belief because anyone can sound smart and intelligent. 1John isn’t just about the issue of false teaching and false believing, its about the corruption of community without fellowship. And I’m all for the idea of community but I believe that the church is creating community without involving God. This elementary concept of community without God is overlooked and we have camaraderie but we dont have true fellowship. You see we have “small groups” and we have all of these things where we have pizza parties and Halo time and all of this and that jazz. And we try and justify our camaraderie by throwing in the verse “where two or more are gathered” and hoping God will sanctify our actions. In reality camaraderie and fellowship are different. And I’m all about pizza parties and Halo time and bowling nights and just hanging out but we have got to realize that that is fun and games. I’m not against fun and games, I’m just not for them producing something, and I’m really not okay with people calling that fellowship. True fellowship is clinging to that life of fasting and prayer for years, all the while doing that because you and I have a common vision and a common value for where we want to go in God. And because we are doing that together over time we are birthing the idea that John was writing about true community and fellowship by experiencing the Father’s heart because we have a common goal. And we experience true community by expressing our belief in God we are destroying the stronghold of the enemy and defeating his lie that we can do this alone and we are corporately seeking after the heart of God just as the apostles did in Acts 2. As a result of that our theologies about God are together because we are going after the same thing and we are building a strong relationship with God not just in our personal lives but in the lives of others as well. And as this begins to take root the true fullness of God is being birthed in us and it’s becoming a reality that not just you and I can cling to but other believers as well. Because of that, my friends, as a result of our common vision and values, we don’t really have to pray that hard to get people to see the idea of what we believe. We are corporately seeking after the truth, which if you look this vision all of the way through will ultimately end the “denominations” throughout the Christian faith. And as in verse 4 of chapter one “our joy is being made full”. You see the joy that God has longed for us to have cannot be made full until we join together as a church body. And if ever you and I are not experiencing that joy because of our differences, just by the very relationship we built on our common journey to experience and ravish the heart of God, we can stand for each other and intercede for one another. Which won’t just be one person praying for you but many people because we ALL have jumped on this boat together and we all desire to have you come back and fellowship with us. And if you continue to read the rest of this chapter in verses 5-8 it says

“5This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all. 6If we claim to have fellowship with him yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live by the truth. 7But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all[b] sin.

8If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. 9If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. 10If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word has no place in our lives.”

So basically, we can, together, defeat the power of sin just by abiding in God and trusting in his faithfulness and confessing our sins with one another. By doing so we are walking in light and there will be no darkness. And the joy in that is we are walking and fellowshipping and building community together with some of the best of our friends. You will find that your greatest friends are those who are your believers. Your greatest of friends are going to be those who fellowship with you and are running with you because you both have a common vision and a common value as to where you want to go in God. Whether you realize it or not this is more than just camaraderie. Because (and this really bothers me when I hear this) when I hear that people from the church have “better relationships with their unbelieving friends than they do with the people from the church, the hypocrites” I cringe. That is a bold faced lie. A bold faced demonic lie from the flaming pit of hell. You absolutely cannot tell me they have better “fellowship” because the reality is they don’t have fellowship. And don’t ever let anyone tell you that. What they have is a friendship with a few laughs, and a lot of insecurities because no one has a common vision and a common value as to where they want to go in God. Or so they think. What needs to happen is the rub in all of Christianity. We need to be people who step out of our comfort zone and are wiling to run with believers because we have a desire for more of God in our lives. And through our fellowship our false theologies (real or not) will be demolished and by the power and blood of Jesus we, together, (again the key word there) will develop a truth from the deep place in God that no one else will have just because we did this together. And this blows my mind, John understood and was saying all of this in just one short letter. But this letter wasn’t just for a specific church, it was for all of the churches described in Revelation 2, 3. So this is for us. We need to come to the realization that this is what we need to be doing. And through that we are nothing without our Vinedresser. We are simply a branch of Christ quite literally and spiritually that is getting watered and pruned daily and the rub is that it only happens through intercession, fellowship, and prayer. So we need to come back to reality and invite this into our own lives, our own being, our own community, our own small groups. And eventually we will no longer have a need for small groups because we will all be running together on one accord after the heart of God. But in the meantime, I’m happy with the beginning of a small group because I really love my small group. Besides, we’ve got to start somewhere right? And with that I close in prayer.

Abba, I call upon your name in this very moment. Lord I ask for the fullness of God to be revealed in every heart. Daddy I ask that you would make this reality of true community and true fellowship a demand upon every heart Lord. Daddy I ask that you would take us to that deep place in you that has never been felt before. Take us and set us in a place where you need us to be for this idea of true community and true fellowship to become a modern day reality. Lord give us the understanding that John had about community lord. I just pray right now father that you would release a massive kissing of your word throughout this nation God. Kiss and tenderize the hearts lord. Let this marinate on every heart. Lord soak this deep within us. God I’m asking that Life would become a reality in us. And that Life would be brought upon this nation again. Lord let every heart take the LIFE covenant and seek after you under a common vision and a common value. Let us run together with your Holy Spirit as in Exodus 33. Lord I just ask that you would mobilize the armies of heaven God and unite us under you. Lord bring this nation back under you right now God like we so pledge our allegiance. God we pledge allegiance to our Creator. I’m asking lord for a movement in the prophetic. I’m asking God for something that would shake our foundation of belief and become refined in your Word. Holy Spirit I pray down a spirit of apostolic intercession that would reach every heart to the very core. God I’m asking Lord that you would move in such a way that would be like Acts 13 God. That would turn a nation upside down. Lord I’m praying that we would unite in you and run with you and partner with the jealousy of your heart. Lord I just pray for every unbelieving heart right now God that you would touch and ravish their heart for more of you. Lord I just pray for the unsuspecting hearts that you are wooing and alluring back to you. I’m asking God for radical salvation God. I’m asking Lord that lives would be changed through the power of prayer. Lord I’m asking that the importance of prayer would be birthed in every life. And God I’m asking Lord for the salvation of Kenya God. I’m asking Lord that you would start a massive revival there. God my heart goes our to Nicaragua God that you would touch that place Lord. I’m asking God that you would put an end to the ritualistic practices that go on there and bring a great revelation of your sevenfold spirit. God reveal your spirit of truth there. And not just there but back home here as well and in every heart. I’m asking that you would take every part of me that is not you and destroy it God and make me like you. Lord wrap this nation in your arms. In your mighty Son’s name I pray. Amen

I love you all!
